DAG-TM will allow pilots on suitably equipped aircraft to turn, climb, descend or change speed en route to their destination without requiring permission from air traffic control. Simulations are testing how aircraft can operate autonomously while being kept clear of other aircraft, hazardous weather and special use airspace. For those flying aircraft that are not suitably equipped, ATC will continue to regulate their airspace requirements.
